Palmer & Harvey is holding a fundraising comedy and curry night to raise money for convenience retailers devastated by the riots.

Proceeds from the Curry on Laughing night on 29 September will go to Sweet Charity, the charity for the UK confectionery industry, and its emergency riot fund.

The line up includes TV comedian Seann Walsh, policeman and comedian Alfie Moore and ventriloquist Nina Conti.

A table at the event, at the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange, costs £1,200 and includes drink, entertainment and an extensive Indian menu.
