Former Waitrose marketing director Christian Cull has been appointed to the newly created role of director of customer communications at BSkyB. He will take up the position on 1 March and will take responsibility for a range of BSkyB's customer communications initiatives, including Sky's customer magazines, loyalty programmes, promotional and advocacy activities and relevant media relations.
New GSK director
GlaxoSmithKline has appointed Dr Stephanie Burns as a non-executive director. Burns is chairman, president and chief executive officer of silicone-based technology company Dow Corning Corporation, and will join GSK's board with immediate effect.
REL commercial chief
Former Sainsbury's business unit director for impulse and grocery Laurence Clube has become REL Field Marketing's new commercial director. The appointment was a significant coup for the UK field marketing agency and further evidence of its increasing stature, claimed REL.
Info security head
International marketing consultancy Dunnhumby has appointed Andrew Hamilton as group head of information security. Hamilton is responsible for the development and management of a global security programme across the company. Its clients include Tesco, Unilever and Coca-Cola.
Fridjhon goes global
South Africa's most-published wine writer, Michael Fridjhon, has been appointed the International Wine Challenge's first global co-chairman. He joins the IWC's four other chairmen in London later this year for the organisation's 24th annual competition.
