As the name suggests, pork is the shop's speciality and the minute you walk through the door you know you are in no ordinary butchers. Whole Tamworth pigs - selected for their size and quality - hang on display and the staff will happily bring them to the customer to ensure they get the exact cut they are after. It also stocks a huge range of home-made sausages, from Spanish chorizo and merguez to Cumberland and Toulouse.
Yet despite being regularly voted as one of London's finest butchers, The Ginger Pig has not let fame get to its head but has stayed true to its roots. Its empire spans just two outlets; its main location is a modest-size shop just off Marylebone High Street and it has a stall at London's Borough Market, where the company first began selling well hung cuts of beef and lamb as well as hamburgers, sausages and bacon.
Full traceability is also in place; the company sources its meat, which is all organic, from the family farm in North Yorkshire.
