Poundzone relaunch after sales success

The display features brands on sale at a £1 price point

DCS Europe has relaunched its discount store concept Poundzone, which offers a range of products from leading brands at a £1 price point.

The four-shelf display, which features products from companies including Procter & Gamble, Gillette, Unilever, Colgate Palmolive, SC Johnson, PZ Cussons and Reckitt Benckiser, is available in branches of Landmark Wholesale and Today’s Group and through delivered wholesalers JW Filshill, Palmer & Harvey and Spar.

The units, described by chairman Denys Shortt as a ‘pound shop in a box’, have been welcomed by wholesalers.

Dhamecha Cash and Carry, for example, has rolled out Poundzone to all of its depots following strong sales at its Wembley branch.

Hyperama Wholesale has reported increased footfall to its household section after running Poundzone.

JW Filshill grocery buyer Stuart Harrison, meanwhile, said he had seen incremental sales from the addition of Poundzone.

The new Poundzone units come with point of sale packages for both cash & carry stockists and Poundzone retailers.
