Co-operative Group CEO Peter Marks, Reckitt Benckiser CEO Bart Brecht and Dr Will Cavendish were among new entries in The Grocer's Power List 2008.

Among the 30 new names in our six-category list, Marks not only retained his number one slot in the local stores list, but also entered the multiples list at number two with only Sir Terry Leahy above him, based on the rejuvenation of The Co-operative Group's estate and the expected acquisition of Somerfield.

Brecht combined constant NPD with strong growth at Reckitts, while Dr Will Cavendish is the new director of health and wellbeing at the Department of Health.

Meanwhile, Sir Stuart Rose of M&S, property tycoon Robert Tchenguiz and Premier Foods chief executive Robert Schofield were among the fallers in our list.
