The Times reported that if Londis is taken over by Irish food group Musgrave, three independent directors are each set to receive £75,000 payouts. This is 14 times the £5,150 annual salary Daniel Driscoll, Alan Heasman and Bharathari Patel each receive as independent directors of the company.

The Sunday Times said that some disgruntled franchisees have begun a campaign to delay Musgrave’s takeover of convenience chain Londis.
The paper said a group of about 40 shareholders were unhappy with the deal, by which four Londis directors will share half of the £40m offered for the business.
