Icelandic retail group Baugur, which has a 22% stake in the Big Food Group and 4% in Somerfield, is reported to be preparing a bid for UK toy retailer Hamleys.
The Financial Times said the offer could value Hamleys which has four other stores apart from its Regent Street flagship, as well as 31 Bear Factory outlets and four English Teddy Bear outlets - at up to £46.2m.
