Sainsbury claims that celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is personally responsible for more than half the sales increases enjoyed by the supermarket.

The Financial Times reports that, a review of the advertising campaigns run by the group revealed that the cheeky chef has generated more than £1.12bn in incremental revenue in just two years and enhanced shareholder value by £1.76bn.

The much debated European Union plan to outlaw tobacco advertisements in newspapers, magazines, on the radio and on the net has been opposed by Britain as too weak.
