Asda chartered a plane to fly in DVD players to meet demand while Tesco sold TVs at a lower price than the manufacturer offered another trade purchaser, according to The Observer.
Musgrave plans to add 27 new stores to its Budgens chain in 2004 as it continues to expand the supermarket group. Turnover at Budgens to December 28 rose to £545m, reported The Sunday Times.
