Kraft Foods has reported an 11.1% decrease in profits from $779m to $674m in third quarter results.

Kraft said that higher commodity and energy costs had contributed to the decrease. Roger K Deromedi, CEO of Kraft Foods, added: “The significant higher costs continue to be a challenge for us, but we remain committed to increasing marketing spend.”

Meanwhile, Kraft has announced a number of changes to its organisational structure, resulting in the loss of 600 jobs.

The reorganisation will eliminate divisions within sectors of the Kraft North America Commercial (KNAC) business, while the Kraft Canada organisation will be realigned to fit with KNAC.
