PZ Cussons has reported “robust” trading in its UK washing and bathing division during the first quarter.
The Imperial Leather maker said group sales during the first quarter ending 24 September were in line with management expectations.
In the UK, it said recent developments such as the revamp of Imperial Leather and the extension of the Cussons Mum & Me range had proved successful.
In Nigeria, despite unrest in the north of the country, PZ Cussons said that positive trading momentum from the second half of the last fiscal year continued into the first quarter.
It also said the Australian baby food business Rafferty’s Garden – which it bought in July – was performing well.
