Sir, The Grocer Analysis on speculation over Quorn's sale by Premier Foods ('Is Quorn still cool enough to help rescue Premier Foods?', 9 October) struck a chord with our team. Focus groups demonstrate time and again the admiration consumers feel for the Quorn brand but there's always a sense this respect is not matched by share of the shopping basket.

We've always felt there's much untapped potential and this may well be down to Quorn not yet having found the most suitable home.

Admirable household brand names have been touted, but while Premier Foods' ownership has boosted sales, we've felt there was always an odd fit between Premier's British heritage, largely ambient brand portfolio and the chilled Quorn brand.

We very much hope the brand finds a buyer in a brand owner with chilled knowhow, main meal expertise and an ambition that can honour the huge potential we and consumers still see in Quorn. The brand has even further to go.
