Tesco has launched its first social networking site for women taking part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.

The Supporters’ Network has a forum for participants and their supporters to discuss their experiences of the 5km events and upload photos.

The website also includes articles on health and nutrition, training tips and posts from guest blogger Paula Radcliffe.

“Raising sponsorship and training for these events takes up lots of time and energy – and the women who do it need the support of their partners, friends and families,” said head of corporate responsibility Josh Hardie.

“Participants or supporters can all now go online to get help and advice.”

Cancer Research UK hopes to raise £60m through 230 Race for Life events this summer, with 730,00 women expected to take part.
