Raunds Co-op, the one-store Northamptonshire co-op that merged with Midlands Co-op last year, has completed a £700,000 refurb.

Work has been carried out internally, with new fixtures and fittings to accommodate an improved selection of products, and externally with new window graphics and signage.

Internal changes have also included a complete redesign of the store layout, a change in aisle direction, updated refrigeration and improved fresh food area to create a better shopping environment for customers.

Some 78% of the 4,000 society members voted in favour of the merger last year despite an initial rejection.
