Cillit Bang maker Reckitt Benckiser has appointed former Tesco and Unilever executive Liz Doherty as its new chief financial officer.
Doherty spent seven years at Tesco as international finance director and was at fmcg giant Unilever for more than 20 years.
Most recently she worked for Australian supply chain consultancy Brambles Industries and is currently a non-executive director at brewer SAB Miller – a position she will now relinquish.
At Reckitt, Doherty replaces Colin Day, whose departure from the cleaning products giant was announced last month.
She begins in her new role in January and will serve a brief handover period with Day.
“Liz has excellent international, consumer and listed company experience,” said Reckitt chief executive Bart Becht (pictured). “In addition, she is a great cultural fit, showing the focus and drive that Reckitt Benckiser looks for."
