Hamish Renton, Tesco’s business planning manager for fresh produce, has relinquished his post to work on a special project within Tesco’s food business.

His replacement is Christy VanMaanenberg who was property manager for Tesco Metro. She starts work on August 18.

Renton moves on after two years in the role. He said: “I am obviously delighted to take up this challenge, which begins immediately. I have greatly enjoyed my role and working with my team, who remain the best in the business.

“I know Christy will be an excellent addition to the team and is able to bring her property and format experience to bear. We spent a considerable time selecting a replacement.”

VanMaanenberg has worked for the multiple for 10 years in various buying roles, including produce, grocery, convenience and non-food categories.
