Robert Wiseman Dairies is to enter the FTSE 250 Index from 22 December.

The move comes 14 years after the dairy was first floated back in 1994, and more than 60 years after the company was founded.

“This underpins how well this stock has performed relative to the market thanks to its defensive nature, strong balance sheet, well-invested asset base and proven strategy,” said Investec Securities analyst, Nicola Mallard.

While the move was the result of volatility within the stock market,  a spokesman for Robert Wiseman Dairies admitted, it also ³shows the continual growth  and progression of the business.²

Tate & Lyle has also re-entered the FTSE 100 Index as the prevailing  economic conditions cause others, including several mining companies, to drop out.
