Robert Wiseman Dairies has reported a 6.4% increase in half-year pre-tax profit to £18.2m on turnover up 12.2% to £327.6m.

Sales volumes rose 5.2% to 745.6 million litres during the period, boosted by an increased contract with the Co-op in July and a new contract with Booths in March.

“The slow but steady recovery in margins enjoyed over the last few years is due to the improved efficiencies within our supply chain,” said CEO Robert Wiseman.

“We are confident that with our new Bridgwater dairy coming on-stream next month we are in great shape to continue the progress made in recent years.”
