A special course in pizza throwing is being offered to supermarket staff with the opening of the first "Safeway School". The multiple says the school will teach staff the skills needed to work within the new store environments like the Fresh to Go' area. Courses on products like Italian and French pastries, Japanese noodles and different varieties of freshly ground coffee will be taught, and staff will also learn practical cooking skills. Around 25 specialist trainers and support team members have been hired, including actors, to help build staff confidence to deliver "retailtainment". HR director Jim White, said: "This unique staff training facility will enable us to pursue our quest to be the best." Safeway said the school, based in Hayes, Middlesex, is the first of a number to be developed nationwide. {{NEWS }}
