Sainsbury is relocating staff from the majority of its 13 London offices to a single location at Holborn Place. Sainsbury chief executive Sir Peter Davis said bringing together front end' business functions such as trading, retail and marketing under one roof would improve internal communications, while the sale of freeholds to the company's other London offices would also free up an estimated £100m in cash. A Sainsbury's Local store will be built on the ground floor of the new Holborn site while the Stamford House and Drury House buildings will be redeveloped into modern office accommodation and a Sainsbury's Central store. {{NEWS }}
