Sainsbury’s head of global sourcing, Jonathan Parry, has announced his resignation just as the retailer plans to open two new overseas sourcing offices.
Parry is said to have been instrumental in establishing the new sourcing infrastructure for Sainsbury’s own-label goods.
He will be leaving at the end of the month to become European director of plumbers’ and builders’ merchants Wolseley, which owns Plumb Center and Build Center.
Meanwhile, tabletop and kitchenware buyer Linda Nucci is moving back to US retailer Target and entertainment buyer Julian Monaghan is going to online retailer Amazon.
Sainsbury also announced the appointment of Dr John McAdam as senior independent director from September 1. He is currently chief executive of ICI.
