Where cutting edge office design is found in grocery Sainsbury and Hazlewood Foods have been shortlisted in a competition to find the best designed offices in the UK. Sainsbury's new Business Centre in Holborn was commended for its reception area which does not have a formal desk, allowing staff and visitors to interact freely. And Hazlewood Foods was commended for combining functionality with modernity, with an on-site restaurant, gym, hairdresser, medical centre, shop and bank at a production centre in Worksop. The Times & Gestetner Digital Office Collection has identified 87 of the most cutting edge offices in the UK to feature in an exhibition at the Royal College of Art on October 29. The top 10 offices will then be chosen. The shortlist was drawn up by a panel that included Design Council chairman Sir Christopher Frayling. Times & Gestetner md Nigel Palmer said: "More and more business leaders are realising office surroundings have a direct influence on the culture of the workplace." {{NEWS }}
