Sainsbury's is to dramatically expand its Click & Collect order service.

The service, which is currently available in 300 stores, allows shoppers to order non-food items on the supermarket's website and pick them up from their nearest store.

Sainsbury's said Click & Collect would be expanded to 400 stores by early June and more than 800 stores by Christmas including c-stores.

General merchandise was a key area of focus for the retailer, said convenience director Helen Buck, pointing to growth rates of 20% in some areas.
