Sainsbury’s is to open its first standalone pharmacy in a hospital

It has been chosen by South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to operate a pharmacy at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. The pharmacy is expected to open in early 2012

The opening represented a “real step forward” for its 250-strong pharmacy operation, which had until now operated only in Sainsbury’s supermarkets, said Sainsbury’s professional services manager David Gilder

“Everyone at Sainsbury’s is looking forward to working with South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to deliver first class care and services to patients,” he added
