An initiative to increase corporate giving to charities has been launched by action group Business in the Community.
Tesco marketing director Tim Mason will chair the scheme, which will encourage the support of good causes and investigate how companies can make a positive impact.
Mason said: “We aim to build a powerful movement of businesses committed to making a difference. This programme will generate awareness and understanding of the benefits for businesses, while enhancing people’s lives in the community.”
The scheme will draw on ideas from other UK initiatives, including payroll giving, marketing programmes and charity of the year partnerships.
