Scottish forecourt operator Osprey Forecourts has opened its new flagship Spar store at Hawthorn Street as part of a major expansion. Osprey Forecourts md Arthur Harris said: "We have gone into partnership with Spar and BP on 14 sites, but it is my intention to to grow Osprey into 40 sites in the foreseeable future." David Walker, chief executive of Spar Scotland, said: "Spar is the market leader in Scottish convenience with 400 stores and 44.5% market share. We intend to grow to 500 stores in the next four years and I see forecourts as a major opportunity." The new store at Hawthorn Street, the first independent site in Scotland to be branded with the new BP helius logo, offers a full range of groceries, chilled and frozen food, newspapers and magazines, utility payments, videos and hot food to go. {{NEWS }}
