Costcutter Supermarkets Group has appointed Sarah Shadbolt to the newly created position of head of customer services.
She previously spent 28 years with fuel distributor and retailer JR Rix and Sons and worked closely with Costcutter in her most recent role as forecourt development manager.
"I am looking forward to using my previous experience as group retailer to enhance the services that Costcutter provides to their retailers," she said.
Jamie Davison, Costcutter's director of sales, added: "Sarah's years of experience in the independent sector will help the Costcutter estate greatly."
Shadbolt will head the helpdesk in the customer services department, which supports Costcutter's 1,500 retailers. She will also be in charge of implementing the new telesales department.
Shadbolt said she hoped to develop a closer relationship with retailers and create more support for the sales force.
