Asda’s stores are seen as the most desirable place to work for shopfloor staff while Tesco is the least desirable, according to a survey conducted for The Grocer.

Managers responsible for recruiting shopfloor staff were asked how desirable they felt the average job in their store was compared to other jobs for equivalent staff in their community.

Nearly 60% of Asda recruiters said ‘very desirable’ compared to just under 7% for Tesco. While only 8% of Asda recruiters said ‘not very desirable’, over 13% of Tesco recruiters responded this way - the highest of all store chains.

See the survey in this week’s issue of The Grocer magazine.
