Snax 24 is keeping schtum on reports that it is part of a consortium bidding for Total UK and Murco.

Reports have suggested the indie forecourt retailer is in exclusive talks with Total UK for its 780-site UK forecourt business in a joint bid with Grovepoint Capital and Investec and is also in the running for Murco's 450 sites.

A double deal would propel Snax 24 from an 81-site operator with sales of £224m to a petrol giant with more than 1,000 stores the biggest independent forecourt operator in the UK.

Both Snax 24 and Total UK refused to comment.
