Weekly sales hit the £4m mark for the first time, with total packs delivered exceeding 280,000 in number.
Both milestones are 15% higher than previous records established last year.
MD Ian Connell said: “These are excellent results. We are showing a growth of over 50% in the last four years, with an increase of nearly 70% in fresh foods. This is based on a 24% growth in store numbers to 395 over the corresponding period.”
He said Appleby Westward was aiming to sign up a record 40 stores by the end of the year, and had already recruited 21 at the half-year, 12 of which were forecourts.
“We offer tailormade retail solutions for independent forecourt operators in high volume locations.
“We are also prepared to back up our confidence in the c-store sector with financial investment to help a store develop,” he added.
However, store numbers are set to drop to around 350 at the year-end when the service contract with Conveco, which was bought by the Co-operative Group, ends.
Connell said: “Our target is to be back to servicing 400 stores by the end of 2005 through our recruitment drive.”
