Tesco in Thirsk checked in the cheapest of four full baskets as our shoppers searched the chillers for 10 dairy items.
At £11.60, the store beat Morrisons’ basket price of £11.90 as a result of keener pricing on 200g of Cathedral City mature Cheddar.
Safeway charged £12.94 for the 10 items, while the shop cost £13.11 at Sainsbury in Kettering. Promotional activity this week centred on Yoplait Frubes 9-packs. Sainsbury offered two for £2.50 and the chain also had Frijj Classic shakes on a buy one get one free offer, although the promotion had caused a run on stocks at its store in Craigavon and the shelf was empty.
Asda had replaced Yoplait Frubes 9-pack with a new ‘better value’ 12-pack.
