Tesco’s video games boss has moved over to head up its toys division.

John Stanhope has been the retail giant’s senior buying manager for video games for the past two years. He will now occupy the same role for the toys business, according to Toy News.

Prior to joining Tesco, Stanhope spent more than 20 years with EUK’s parent company, the Woolworths Group, before it entered administration in 2008.

During Stanhope’s time at Tesco’s games division, the retailer reduced the size of its head office team and launched a pre-owned games scheme that increased its share of the gaming market.

Tesco’s new senior buying manager for video games is Sarah Kaye.
