Third quarter sales for Nestle were up 2.9% resulting in 4.5% organic growth for the company.

Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, chief executive officer of Nestle said: “The acceleration of real internal growth in the third quarter is the dividend from Nestle’s increased investment in its brands during the first half of the year.”

Among the product categories the company saw good organic growth from PetCare with 6.9%, Milk products, nutrition and ice cream with 4.9% and chocolate, confectionery and biscuits with 4.4%.

The main growth regions were the Americas with organic growth of 8.3% and Asia (including Oceania and Africa) with 6.7%
