The Heart of England Co-op has recorded a sixth successive record year of trading with profits over £2m for the first time. Food turnover for the year to January 26 was up 7% to over £40m according to chief executive Richard Samson, and trading profit across all divisions was up 40% to £2.3m. Samson said: "Turnover at our 35 food stores is up another 7% so far this year, despite the fact that the Coventry and Warwickshire area in which we operate is not an easy market, with all the big supermarkets and convenience chains represented." {{NEWS }}
