Palmer & Harvey McLane is on course to meet ambitious targets set for its new symbol format, Mace Express. Since its launch at the Pro- Retail show at the end of April, 32 stores have signed up to trade under the fascia. The speed of the take-up suggests P&H will have few problems meeting its target of 100 stores by the end of the year, said a spokeswoman. "This is a very healthy increase." Mace Express is targeting retailers occupying the "middle ground between CTNs and fully blown convenience stores," with weekly sales of between £5,000 and £9,000 and a sales area of less than 1,000 sq ft. For £25 a week, Mace Express retailers benefit from better buying terms from P&H, free membership of the ACE third party drop shipment scheme and regular promotional deals. {{NEWS }}
