Pontins has dropped its own Daily Choice fascia for shops on its holiday camps in favour of Londis. Eight Londis concessions have been set up in an attempt to persuade more campers to shop on site. The stores are linked to the Londis's promotional programme and sell newspapers and a range of top-up grocery lines, including own-label. Most are licensed, sell fresh produce and have an in-store bakery. David Brooks, Pontin's head of operations, said: "While our shops have seen excellent growth which has outstripped other areas in our business, our guests often went off site for their shopping because they perceived our own shops to be expensive." Pontins, which has sites from South Devon to Blackpool, reviewed suppliers as well as products, ranges, layouts and category placement for the new stores. {{NEWS }}
