Tesco has attracted than 1,000 complaints after Facebook users were left frustrated by a promotion to receive chocolate bars.

The deal offered 5,000 printable vouchers for the social networks users to redeem a free Galaxy More to Share product.

Customers left a string of messages on the supermarket’s Facebook page, with some claiming they could not find the link to download their vouchers and others claiming they experienced error messages when they clicked through.

“We were delighted by the popularity of this offer and are pleased to have been able to reward 5,000 customers on Friday,” said a Tesco spokesman. “We are very sorry that due to very high levels of interest some people experienced problems with the site.”
