Tesco has opened the first in-store Nutri Centre at its flagship store in West Kensington, London to offer shoppers a range of alternatives to conventional medicines.
Located at the front of the store the Nutri Centre forms part of a ‘healthy living zone’ that includes Tesco ranges of Organic, Free From and Food Doctor products.
Staffed by qualified nutritionalists, the 1,000 sq ft store within a store has a learning zone with a touch screen information point, internet access, books on healthy living, plus a free natural health guide and telephone advice.
Customers will be able to buy more than 3,000 herbal and homeopathy medicines, aromatherapy oils, vitamins, minerals and supplements. A further 20,000 will be available via a catalogue and internet ordering service.
Tesco bought a controlling share in Nutri Centre in August 2001.
