Tesco has appointed former Vodafone marketer Lance Batchelor to become its new marketing director.
Batchelor joined Vodafone in 2002 as UK marketing director and was chief marketing officer at Amazon prior to that. He also spent eight years in senior marketing roles at Procter & Gamble, in the UK and the US.
Batchelor replaces Ian Crook, who became Tesco's marketing director in August when Simon Uwins left to become chief marketing officer for Tesco's Fresh & Easy operation in the US. Crook will now head up marketing for Tesco's online operation, reporting to Tesco.com chief executive Laura Wade-Gery.
