Tesco has refused to confirm reports it is planning to enter the US next year under the name Tesco Fresh & Easy.
Press reports appearing this week said job ads on a US recruitment website asked for applicants who would &aquot;develop, implement and administer the Tesco Fresh & Easy culture&aquot;.
Tesco media director Jonathan Church said that the job ads were &aquot;a hotch-potch of information, much of which is inaccurate&aquot;.
Reports suggesting that Tesco was looking for 15,000 sq ft store sites were inaccurate, he said. One analyst said that if this were the case, the stores would probably be 10,000 sq ft.
