Tesco's chief executive of clothing Terry Green has taken over responsibility for the UK non-food division.
In March Tesco chief executive Sir Terry Leahy promised Green a more powerful role if he turned down a lucrative job offer from Marks & Spencer.
Part of Green's new remit is to re-combine hardlines such as electricals, and softlines such as clothing, to create one non-food operation.
Terry Price, who has led Tesco's hardlines for the past four years, is now responsible for total non food in Europe. "Terry Price transformed the UK non-food business and we believe he can do the same for Europe," said a spokeswoman.
