Tesco is reportedly planning to launch an IT support service to take on retailers such as DSGi and Comet.

It has bought computer support company PC Guys and is testing a home visit concept at a store in Cambridge, according to reports in the Daily Telegraph. Services will include installing televisions and setting up home cinema systems.

“We want to help consumers keep up with the latest electronic trends and technologies, as well as provide support and maintenance to those who need a helping hand,” a Tesco spokesman said.
