Tesco is looking to roll out its pay@pump forecourt credit card payment method across all its sites.

It started to use the technology in 2003 across selected sites, but is now looking at eventually having the terminals on every forecourt. It has recently registered the pay@pump trademark at the Patent Office.

A spokesman said it wanted to secure the image rights to the phrase so it could use the logo more widely and promote the service. Currently, smaller and older forecourts don’t offer the service, but it was now looking at rolling it out to more, he added.
