Tesco and Morrisons have increased their share of the UK grocery market over the last three months, according to the latest till roll data from TNS.

For the 12 weeks to March 2, Sainsbury in third spot lost 0.1% to 16.4%, Asda in second place dipped 0.1% to 17%, with Tesco out in front on 27.4% up 0.2%.

Morrisons edged up 0.1% to 6.6% to remain in fifth spot, while its recently acquired Safeway dropped back 0.1% to 8.7% for the period, to give a combined share of 15.3%.

Share at the Somerfield group dropped 0.1% over the three months to 5.1%.
