Tesco has decimated the competition over the last 12 months stealing £1bn business from rivals and picking up the lion’s share of lost trade from Sainsbury, Marks and Spencer and Morrisons/Safeway, according to new switching data from TNS.

Hard discounter Netto was the only chain to steal any trade from Tesco, which picked up business from Sainsbury and from arch-rival Asda in the year to February 27, according to TNS.
