Lucy Neville-Rolfe, Tesco’s director of corporate and legal affairs, is to join the board of ITV.

Her appointment, announced yesterday, marks the final addition to ITV’s board since Archie Norman became the broadcaster's chairman at the start of the year.

"Lucy brings to ITV a unique combination of consumer and governmental experience," said Norman, who spent almost a decade with Asda as chief executive and then chairman.

Neville-Rolfe joined Tesco in 1997 after several years in Whitehall. At ITV, she will sit on a board that includes chief executive Adam Crozier, who previously headed up Royal Mail and the Football Association.
