Tesco's training move welcomed

Sir; I applaud Tesco's initiative in setting up a training academy. Maybe it will allow staff access to open learning where they can progress at their own level and achieve a wide knowledge of food manufacture and distribution to add to the retail skills they can acquire at store level. I still struggle to find a good open learning course in food systems from plough to plate. At least one college offers a taught course in agribusiness at HND level but circumstances, mainly cost and time, preclude me from taking up the course. Will The Grocer publish some book reviews on food related topics to push forward learning and understanding, on food technology, retailing or marketing? In the meantime well done Tesco.
