Tesco has struck a deal with charities Remploy and Shaw Trust to boost recruitment of disabled people in its stores.
Tesco will turn more than 200 supported placements into permanent jobs this year - with a view to increasing recruitment of the disabled further.
Tesco has already worked with more than 700 people with a range of disabilities through a supported placements scheme, said personnel director Judith Nelson. This offers extra assistance with job applications and interviews as well as initial on-the-job support.
