The Co-operative Group is to give away 100 Christmas parties to community groups and neighbourhoods this year.
The Co-op has set up a £10,000 ‘party fund’, and is asking local groups looking to organise parties in village halls, community centres or nursing homes to apply to win a ‘party pack’. The packs contain supplies for up to 50 people, and include crackers, paper plates, paper cups, balloons, napkins and tablecloths, along with £100 worth of Co-op Group vouchers to spend on food.
People can enter by visiting www.co-operativefood.co.uk/party and saying why their neighbourhood or community deserves a party. The closing date is Tuesday 20 November.
Helen Nunn, Head of Marketing at The Co-operative Food said: “Christmas is a time when people come together to celebrate and, with a store in every UK postal area, we’re here for families and communities at this special time of year, and want to lend a helping hand to those looking to keep the community spirit alive over the festive period by organising a party for their local community group or neighbourhood.
The Co-op Group launched a similar scheme in April, which offered groups and communities the chance to win a street party to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.
