Head of retail acquisition at the Co-operative Group, David Turner, has resigned to pursue other interests after 15 months with the society.
Turner was group property director of c-store chain T&S Stores from 1991 until its acquisition by Tesco in 2003. He was responsible for operational management, store design, acquisitions and disposals and was involved in developing the One Stop business, including the acquisition of c-store chains M+W and Day & Nite.
The Co-operative Group
recruited him in 2003 to head acquisitions and build up a team, which he recruited from Spar and United Co-op. In 2004 the Co-operative Group had acquired the Conveco chain.
